Welcome to the Element home page.

Element is a small, slick chat client with support for instant messaging, chat rooms, password-protected and encrypted chats and many more powerful tools. It has its own protocol and also support for many others, including MSN, AIM, Y!IM and ICQ. You can see mock-up designs either by clicking on the thumbnails on the right, or the Screenshots link at the top.

Currently, the project is in the planning stage. It is being designed and developed by members of Programming Forums (project leaders are in bold, and assigned jobs are in italics):

Element will be coded in C#, using Visual C# .NET and SharpDevelop for Windows, and Mono for everything else. We will be using GTK# as the windowing toolkit for cross-platform support, and will support scripts written in Python.
